About Me

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated by colours, shapes, and patterns. In some ways, it’s surprising that it took me thirty-odd years to discover quilting, but I did (recently) and this blog exists mostly to document my adventures as I learn the craft. I also aspire to design my own patterns someday.

I’m a programmer by trade and generally like to unwind by doing things that involve not computers (quilting, cooking, knitting, being outside). I’m also a paraplegic living in Montreal, which means I spend a lot of time indoors in winter (snow and especially ice are not very navigable by wheelchair or on crutches). I started quilting as something to do when I was stuck at home in the winter, as a way to literally and figuratively brighten my days. I’ve found quilting to be one of the more adaptable hobbies, and one that I can do mostly independently.

I live with my husband (who helps me out with the not-so-adaptable parts of quilt-making), and two cats, who are very skilled at sitting smack in the middle of whatever I’m working on.
